Mutton with cabbage - simple and fast

This is one of my favourite recipes. Its simple and it is fast to make. The recipe is from my friend Preethi's mom. And now it is one of my favourites too.

Ingredients: Half kg mutton, 2 medium onions, 2 medium tomatoes, 5-6 cloves of chopped garlic, 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste, 3/4 tsp chilli powder, 3/4 tsp garam masala, 1 tbsp of coriander powder, 4-5 leaves of cabbage shredded well.

Heat oil and fry the finely sliced onions till they are almost golden brown. Add in your chopped tomatoes , chopped garlic, ginger garlic paste and all the powders and cook it well. Add in the meat and fry for around 2-3 minutes till the meat is well cooked. This dish is meant to be a bit dry so add water accordingly. Add salt to taste.

The final dish

Pressure the meat for 5 minutes lesser than you normally do. When the pressure releases, open the cooker, and drop in the shredded cabbage. Cook on open fire for another five minutes. The cabbage should retain its crunchiness. This dish tastes great as an accompaniment to rice and dal or even with chapathis.
