Hole In the Wall Cafe - isn't there something really nice about that name? And when you get there, you will see that the description of this little place is almost accurate. Of course, its a little more than a hole in the wall and can seat around 25 if you can really pack yourselves in. This place is great for breakfasts which on weekends lasts well into brunch hours and beyond. They also have a range of sandwiches, burgers, smoothies, shakes and of course caffeine.
We went on a full house day - Sunday, at almost peak hours of 9.45 AM. We had to wait a while to be seated and were given a nice corner stone bench with cushions to the left of the cafe's entrance. We can understand how it is on a Sunday morning when you have hordes coming in for breakfast and so found the ordering part a little amusing. We were given the order pad and asked to write down our orders. Cute, we thought since we knew what we wanted from the specials board. But we had no clue about the beverages we could have and that's when it struck our man who handed us the pad, that he hadn't given us the menu yet. Anyways, it was amusing for a Sunday morning.
We ordered two rounds of the complete English breakfast and some pancakes for Anoushka. Service didn't take too long considering how full the place was. The breakfasts came with two king size sausages, a thick slice of ham, sauteed mushrooms, blanched spinach, baked beans and an egg - sunny side up. This along with two thick slices of white bread and butter. All good and put together a filling breakfast.

Anoushka's pancakes were soft and fluffy and thankfully junior ate them all up. But would have preferred it with the maple syrup rather than honey. I had a banana smoothie which was thick and nice and perfect top up to my breakfast. Sudhakar opted for good old coffee.

Overall a nice place for breakfast if you are ready to wait a while and if the kids are not ravenously hungry. It tends to get comfortable here and so getting to your table can take a while with others lounging about. But you will not think much about it once the food is placed before you. Also what I liked about this place was the personal touch from Lynn, the owner of the place. You will see her serving up meals, ensuring you are comfortably seated and asking you if you need anything more. This meal came to around Rs 400 and a little more. The loo is all the way at the back of the restaurant and could do with some sprucing up.
